Case 1: If You're a CEO, Which One Would You Choose? TV or Internet?


A product can not enter into the market and achieve sales targets in the absence of socialization products. Consumers will not buy goods or products of unknown utility. Therefore, the product of socialization is needed by manufacturers to introduce their products so that consumers clearly know the type, function, and even the advantages and disadvantages of these products compared to other similar products. 
There are many media advertisers such as television, newspapers, radio and even the internet. But to advertise a product, companies should pay attention to the effectiveness of the use of the advertising medium. Because effective and whether an advertisement on it depends on the media advertisers. The company also must consider the extent of media coverage, and also the ease of consumers to understand and access the media advertiser.

So, what is the media's most sorely missed by teen society? TV or Internet?

Here are the results of a survey by online news BizzReport On July 13, 2007.

In a survey conducted in China, 87% of teens prefer online on the Internet than watching TV. Not much different from the Chinese, the study results showed American adolescents, 77% of teens prefer the Internet just as the results of surveys in other countries, according to online news BizzReport,

The survey results New Paradigm is not much different from the results of a recent study Edison Media, entitled "Internet and Multimedia". From sample 12-year-olds to 44-year-old man, the study showed the highest percentage achieved by Internet enthusiasts, which amounted to 39%. Looking for television that drops to 35% in 2002 and television has percentage rate of 48%, followed by the Internet at 25%, radio 16%, and newspapers 3%.

According to the percentage figure, teens aged 12 to 44 years old who consider the Internet as the main medium of entertainment. While the generation aged 55 and above all, television is still considered more attractive than the Internet.

This survey does not specify that the Internet has replaced television as the primary source of information and entertainment community. But certainly, these survey results indicate that many companies will use the Internet to entice customers.

Advantages and Disadvantages
In each medium used to advertise, there are advantages and disadvantages of each, but there are some advantages and disadvantages that are common.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Television
1. The medium of television has the unique ability to demonstrate the use of the product. No other medium can reach consumers in unison through the senses of hearing and sight as well. The audience can identify the user of the product and also imagine that their self using the product.
2. The television also has the ability to turn up unexpectedly (intrusion value) are not aligned with other media. Television advertisements using one's senses and attract attention even when the person does not want to watch commercials.
3. The vendors will be easier to sell a product that has been developed advertising campaigns on television.
4.  Television as an advertising medium is quite effective in reaching the final consumer. But the cost is needed to advertise a product on television is quite expensive in comparison priceless media. 

Advantages and disadvantages of Internet
Communication technology changes very quickly and globalized, has given marketers the opportunity to reach a wider target market and efficiently. Using the internet as a way to reach our customers globally, into consideration today's business world.
Through the Internet, the ad would have a potential that is not owned by other media.
The first: With a digital networks or online world seemed endless. Digital networks or can be accessed online from anywhere; village, city, county even tough the state connected to the internet.
Second: With the internet we are able to establish relationships with people on the go and find out in a moment activities.

Third: Advertise on the internet more attractive compared to other advertising media. you can add text, design, images, adding noise and so forth. all are can be set as desired and your creativity.

Fourth: Advertise on the internet you can chat directly with advertisers. it is not shared by other advertising media such as TV, radio or newspapers. which they only provide advertising without accompanying a place to communicate directly with consumers.

Fifth: in terms of cost, advertise on the internet cheaper than other media. This condition can be utilized for the company to increase profits through cost savings promotion or advertising.

Disadvantages of advertising on the internet is a limited market can be captured if one would only use the Internet Ad for advertising. Although most people today are into the use of technology, namely surfing the Internet, majority of the average consumers still relies on the old form of advertising as a means to gather information about certain products / services. 

All advertising medium has its advantages and disadvantages of each, if you're a CEO of a multinational company, which one would you choose?? TV or Internet?
