Case 2: Blogs are Good Marketing or Fake Advertising?

Blogs are the new media to promote a product, suitable to use this medium for companies to replace focus group for research, to develop better consumer relations program, to promote new brand, to conduct public relations activities and more. This is a potential area for companies to promote and selling their products through blogs.

The process of buying and selling through the Internet is commonly known as Electronic Commerce or EC. EC is a process of buying and selling, transfer, or exchange of products, services, and information through computer networks, including the Internet. with the ease of Internet access, Internet became a field of potential as a medium for public deception. Fake blog is one example of public deception through the Internet.

A fake blog is an electronic communication form that appears to originate from a credible, non-biased source, but which in fact is created by a company or organization for the purpose of marketing a product, service, or political viewpoint. The purpose of a fake blog is to inspire viral marketing or create an Internet that generates traffic and interest in a product. Online business is easier for the perpetrators of fraud in the act, because they do not meet directly with buyers.

Ads are posted on the blog contains information about the product to be sold. Usually has a good design, even if the need to create a very interesting picture to exceed its original form. And after the consumer buys the product, the consumers not satisfied and feel cheated because the product purchased is not as advertised.

See the picture below:

In the ad, everything created with interesting, McDonald burgers looks very tempting. Some compositions such as tomatoes, sauce, Letuchi, peppers, meats, breads, everything looks fresh and interesting. But in reality, the customer only accept advertisements visualization burger. Burger received sometimes look very ugly and do not match those advertised, it is usually covered by Burger McDonald's with a tight wrap, making it look as if changed since wrapping burgers.

And also this picture when Nokia launching product “Lumia 920” :

Nokia says Pure View eliminate shakes and jitters that you can get when taking video and photos with a smart phone. And then the company released an ad. In the ad depicts a jovial young man and woman were riding side by side. When she laughed merrily, each ad shows side-by-side video clearly intended to represent the video capabilities of the phone.

That video, wasn't shot with a Lumia 920, or any smart phone. That video came from one man who was driving a van on the side of the woman, the man with the camera recording the scene was big enough. This can be seen clearly at the end of the video.

From the description above, we can little lessons. That do not always believe in advertising. Advertising has always been deceptive (where there is a product advertising which indulgence product ugliness). Here I just hope that the perpetrators of production (not just burgers and Nokia, but also other items) to act honestly, advertise its products in accordance with the condition of the goods on the market. We are all consumers are entitled to get the best from the manufacturer.

The consumer, before choosing a product, you should be clearly understood the truth. Ask a question to yourself. Is it good marketing or fake advertising?
